Centre Obert

Who are we?

At Centre Obert Ubuntu we are an educational leisure and school-support space where children, teenagers and their families enjoy a place designed for them and adapted to their needs.

What do we do?

The project follows a holistic education approach with active methods, helping children, teenagers and families grow in democratic values, fairness and respect for diversity. We strengthen theoretical knowledge, skills and personal abilities to support their overall development, improve their social conditions and connect the neighbourhood's different cultures — guiding children and young people within a normalised, personalised framework built on critical thinking and collective awareness.

When?

Monday to Friday, 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm during term time.

Where?

At our premises in Zona Nord, Nou Barris.

Who is it for?

We currently offer 50 places for children and teenagers (and their families) aged 6 to 16 from Zona Nord in Nou Barris. We work in five age groups, each with a reference educator plus a supporting coordinator. Some spaces are designed for small-group work, others for all groups to mix, fostering the Ubuntu spirit and intergenerational work. We also count on invaluable volunteers supporting each group.
